This week has continued to be much more fun and collaborative than my previous week. Having people around my age, and even just willing to talk to me casually in conversation, has lifted a sort of burden that I didn't know had been weighing me down. Unfortunately, I learned they will only be interning here for one week, so I will have to be alone for one more. This week we have started to work on a lot more cool things. One of the main ones we have been working on all week is our social media video that demonstrates what work we have been doing here at the Chagrin Documentary Film Festival this week to their audience. This was important because since the festival isn't closed yet, there has been a lull in the social media content, which we were tasked with filling. We spent time filming the beautiful landscape of Chagrin Falls for b roll, talked about our tasks day to day, and essentially demonstrated to the CDFFs audience what was going on behind the scenes. We also made social media posts in Canva to display important info to CDFF's audience, such as the early versus late deadline, a memorial day celebration, and a reminder that there is still time to donate and become a member. I also spent time individually researching potential furniture options that CDFF could use to put in their soon-to-be renovated downstairs shop. Engelina also told us to take inventory inside the stuffy, practically 1800s basement that they have so that they know what to order in time for the next festival. I did not dislike this job at all I liked being able to listen to music and count. Still, I would have preferred to have done this job last week, because it is hard to do with other people talking, and I felt it was a waste not to be able to talk since they were only here for a week. We finished the week by meeting with the digital production studio, R43 Limited. We went there to film some confessionals by donors in their recording area to create a trailer/hype video for the festival. My job was to usher the often old and hard-of-hearing interviewees around a brief tour of the building, ending at the recording studio.
Enjoy your time hanging out with new friends!
